“RnB, trap, electronic pop, through whose glittering shell and rich harmonies the jazz background always shines through – the Cologne band Salomea releases its debut album GOOD LIFE (Papercut Records), an album full of highly polished miniatures.”

Overcoming boundaries. SALOMEA manifests a dazzling multi-genre melting pot: Music as an intense conversation, a band that takes risks, a voice as if from another universe, poignant and warm. SALOMEA transform every performance into an immersive experience, with a heartfelt belief in love, courage and honesty. And yes: this demands real listening and then reveals a finely balanced blueprint of the music of the future.
The German/US-American singer, composer, lyricist and instrumentalist Rebekka Salomea and her top-class band, Y annis Anft (keys), Oliver Lutz (bass) and Leif Berger (drums), have built up a loyal fan base with their contemporary jazz-electronica sound and rousing live shows.
They have opened shows for Brainfeeder artists Louis Cole & Genevieve Artadi and collaborated with artists such as Salami Rose Joe Louis, Ray Lozano, Silvan Strauss, Gianni Brezzo, NDR Big Band. They have also worked with multimedia artists such as Luise Zücker, Sophie Yukiko, Parissa Charghi & Gîn Bali.
The band’s long-standing passion and consistency have firmly established SALOMEA on the European music scene, playing some of the hottest festival stages such as Elbjazz (Arte concert), co pop, XJAZZ, Berlin Popkultur, Jazz Open, Moers Festival (DE), Waves Vienna (Ö), Jazzablanca (Morocco) and Avignon Jazz Festival (FR), winning over a passionate fan base in the process.
Against a backdrop of hip hop-infused jazz and electronica, SALOMEA offers their music and the stories associated with it as a place, sound and feeling of belonging and ultimately freedom.
“An album like a daydream. It takes me on a journey from which I don’t want to return. There’s a surprise lurking at every turn, a new genre, but the album is consistent from start to finish and full of highlights.”
